Special Services

A variety of special services are scheduled throughout the church calendar. During Advent and Lent, midweek services take place at 7 p.m.

The worship life at Epiphany is grounded in the riches of the historic Lutheran liturgy. Liturgical worship puts the words of Scripture and the saints of all times and places in the mouths of those gathered around Word and Sacrament. At Epiphany, we use Lutheran Service Book exclusively in our worship. The Lutheran worship service is called the Divine Service, because the chief thing in worship is God’s service to us in Christ. We are primarily recipients in worship. We receive God’s gifts in Baptism, Scripture, preaching, absolution, the Lord’s Supper, and benediction. First God speaks. First He gives us His gifts in Christ. Only then do we respond in thanksgiving and praise. God speaks and we listen. Then we say back to God what He has first said to us. And in so doing we build one another up in the faith singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).

The Sacrament of the Altar is offered every Lord's day and every Wednesday evening. The normal communicant is a confirmed member of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation. Under no circumstances should an un-baptized person commune. If you are not a member of an LCMS congregation, or have not communed at Epiphany before, please speak with the Pastor or an Elder before the service begins.
